Water Illusion in the Desert

Can you imagine being lost and roaming through the hot desert? Can you imagine hoping and praying that the rain will fall so that you can drink? Can you imagine what that’s like, while you’re still holding your child, this child with you, depending on you? Can you now imagine the weight on your shoulders, as you desperately cry and pray for the rain to fall? The desperation of providing water, for not only yourself, but your child as well?

The confusion and the false illusion of seeing waters in the desert, when it’s really not there. As you cry more and more and reach forward in desperation, reaching and reaching but the water is not there.

So many single mothers walk through this life, this dry desert, reaching for false illusions in the shape of a man to fill us up. No, God did not create Adam to be alone, nonetheless for Eve to raise her child alone. God did not intend for us to carry the load and walk these dry deserts alone. He did not create a lie. Without God, we walk this life, seeking and searching false illusions.

Single Mother,

How much longer will you roam these deserts alone? How much longer will you look for love in the shape of a man? He will not satisfy you. He will not make you whole. How much longer will that serpent deceive you? Why listen to his evil schemes whispering in your ear, when you know that I am here?

Let Me take care of you, my daughter. Seek Me for I will give you rest. I will quench your thirst. I will direct you in the way that you should go. I will order your steps. I will protect you and take care of you and your child. Don’t look to the past or to your right or to your left, not even towards the future but set your eyes on Me. Do not fall for the lies but keep your focus on Me. I have a purpose for you and I will hold you with My righteous right hand. Will you choose to trust in Me?

Psalm 16:8

I keep my eyes always on the LORD. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.

John 4:10-15 10 Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.” 11 “Sir,” the woman said, “you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where can you get this living water? 12 Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did also his sons and his livestock?” 13 Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, 14 but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” 15 The woman said to him, “Sir, give me this water so that I won’t get thirsty and have to keep coming here to draw water.”
