My Story

Since I was a little girl, I have loved creating. I spent countless hours drawing, coloring and dreaming of becoming artist. My parents always encouraged my creativity and reminded me that my talent was a gift from God. Growing up in a church, my faith became a foundation of both my life and my art.

As I entered my twenties, life looked very different than I had imagined. As a single mother, my focus became providing for my son. I worked job after job, often setting aside my dream of becoming a professional artist in order to make ends meet. Although I never stopped loving art, I believed that season of my life had passed.

At the age of 33, after unexpected losing my job, I experienced one of the most difficult seasons of my life. Yet it was during that time that I saw God faithfully provide for every need and began giving me new visions and ideas for my artwork. He reminded me that He had never abandoned me and that the gifts He placed within me were meant to glorify Him and encourage others.

Today, every painting I create is inspired by my faith and the beauty of God's creation. My hope is that each piece serves as a reminder of His love, grace, hope, and promises. Whether it's a peaceful landscape, a meaning portrait, or one of my signature mixed-media pieces, my prayer is that my artwork brings comfort, joy, and encouragement into every home it enters.

My Mission

My mission is to create artwork that does more than decorate a wall. My prayer is to be His vessel. I want every painting to inspire faith, encourage hope, and remind people that God's love is present in every season of life. If even one person feels comforted or draws closer to Him because of something I created, then my purpose as an artist has been fulfilled.

About the Art

The heart behind the art

Every piece I create is a reflection of my faith, life experiences, and the beauty of God's creation. I use three signature techniques that bring depth, texture, and a touch of sparkle to my artwork.

Each piece is made with care, intention, and a prayer that it will bless the heart of whoever recieves it.

MY SIGNATURE TECHNIQUES

For years, I knew my artwork was good, but I longed to create something that was unmistakably my own-a style that people could recognize instantly and say, "That's a Diana Castillo piece." As I reflected on my artistic journey, I realized there were three creative passions that had shaped my creativity from the very beginning.

1. Realism

I've always been drawn to realism and hyperrealism. While abstract art was never my passion, I loved capturing lifelike details and even created several photorealistic portraits throughout my artistic journey.

2. 3D! (Sculpting & Dimension)

I've always been fascinated by sculptures and dimensional artwork. As a child, I spent countless hours molding clay and texture and creating figurines. That love for texture and depth never left me.

3. Bling Bling!

Who remembers the days of blinged-out phones? I spent hours use to spend decorating phone cases with rhinestones, resin cabochons, and sparkling embellishments. The ponies were my fave! Without realizing it, I was developing a love of adding beauty through texture and shine.

Eventually, everything came together. I combined the realism I admired, the texture inspired by sculpture, and the brilliance of crystals into a single artistic process. By layering acrylic paint, impasto, techniques, Swarovski crystals, glitter, mica flakes, and other mixed media elements, I discovered a style unlike anything I had created before.

It was more beautiful than I had ever imagined. That moment became the birth of my signature style-a collection of richly textured, light-catching works designed to inspire hope, faith, and beauty.

Every piece I create today carries a little of those three passions, making each artwork unmistakenly... an Art by Diana Castillo masterpiece.
