I created this pastel drawing from my love of peacocks and my fascination with the beauty of Heaven. As a child, I was deeply moved by the testimony of artist Akiane Kramarik and her descriptions of the extraordinary beauty and colors she associated with Heaven—colors beyond anything we experience on Earth.
I wanted to capture a small glimpse of that beauty through the rainbow-colored clouds, the angel, and the peacock. To me, the peacock represents the magnificence of God’s creation, while the angel reflects the peace and wonder I imagine surrounding Heaven.
There is a beauty beyond what we can see and a hope beyond what we can imagine. Keep your heart anchored in God, knowing that He has prepared something far greater than we can ever comprehend.
