• You Carried Me in the Dry Desert
• Art by Diana Castillo
• Mixed Media on canvas
• ..”x..”
• Frame not included
This painting is part of my Footprints Collection, following the earlier ocean-inspired pieces. But unlike the waves and shoreline, this work turns to the desert — the dry, rugged wilderness of El Paso, where the sun sets against cactus blossoms and the path feels endless.
The single trail of footprints represents those seasons in life when exhaustion takes over, when hope feels scarce, and when you feel you cannot take another step. Yet even in the driest places, God’s love and mercy remain. He carries you through the wilderness, reminding you that even here — surrounded by silence, heat, and emptiness — life blooms, dreams are not forgotten, and His presence never leaves.
This painting is for anyone walking through a dry season, a reminder that God’s strength is carrying you until you reach renewal again.
Prayer:
Lord, in the dry seasons of life when hope feels distant and strength runs out, remind us that You are near. Thank You for carrying us when we can no longer walk on our own. Let Your living water refresh our souls, and let Your promises bloom even in the wilderness. Amen.
